Large detailed antique brooch depicting a graceful fork-tailed swallow in flight! Rendered in 15K gold, the swallow has engraving to reproduce the feathers with the wingtips curving upward and beaded eyes. A tiny ring held in the mouth allows this to convert to a pendant. Swallows were a popular theme in Victorian sweetheart jewelry as they mate for life and therefore represented everlasting love. Such a wonderful sentiment and the perfect gift.
