This pretty Art Nouveau brooch features a portrait of a lovely young woman wearing curling locks of hair and a light shawl. She is centered in a flowing silver frame. A leafy rose sits at the bottom of the frame. The repoussé jewelry making technique favored by the metal smiths of the period gives the sterling silver front of the piece a three-dimensional quality. Circa 1900.
